While paying for a custom blurb can cost you upwards of $250, the 1:1 Blurb Audit is just $195, making it the perfect mid-ground for indies who need a bestseller blurb without breaking the bank.

Step 1:

Send me your 150-250 word blurb draft as a Word doc (you'll be given a link to do this after purchase). Even if you're not in love with it, please make an effort to write approx. three short paragraphs and have a go at writing a hook so we have something substantial to work with (if you're not familiar with blurb structure you can download my free cheatsheet here).

Step 2:

Hop on a 60 minute Zoom call with me, where we'll do some serious rewriting so you can walk away with a polished, streamlined and professional blurb in under an hour!

Bonus Support:

Depending on what we started with, you may be left with a little bit of "homework" to do after the call. But if any tweaks are still needed after our 60 minutes is up, you still have 2 weeks of access to me inside our shared Google Doc to help you finish it off (and get my eyes on the final version before we wrap up!).

60 minute Zoom call. On this call, I walk you through the problem areas of your blurb and ask questions/provide guidance to help us brainstorm/rewrite the parts that need work. While this is a highly collaborative session in which you're encouraged to contribute throughout, you'll also have the benefit of my experience to shape a snappy hook, pare your blurb down to only the most tantalising of information and construct a CTA that drives sales. You'll leave this call with a blurb that is guaranteed to be at least 99% done (though often we hit perfection in under 60 minutes!), leaving you with very minimal (if any) tweaks still to make.

2 weeks of unlimited revisions. If there's still tweaks to be made after our 60 minute call, you have a fortnight to hash out the final details with me on the shared Google Doc and get my feedback on the final version.

I'm in Sydney, Australia, but I work with clients all over the world! If you can't find a time on my calendar that works for your timezone I'm happy to be flexible where possible. Just shoot me an email after you purchase!

How "finished" does my blurb have to be?

You need to have written a minimum of 150 words (and no more than 250) and made an effort to structure it with a hook, key information and clear stakes (for fiction) and a hook, key information/main argument and benefits/features (for non-fiction). It doesn't have to be super polished, but I need to have something to work with! The more you have, the more you'll get out of this audit.

What if the blurb I send you is unsalvageable?

If — upon reviewing your blurb — I determine that it would be better to start from scratch, I'll tell you! Then you can either ask for more time to rewrite it and come back to me, or simply upgrade to my custom blurb service and let me handle it for you.

Will you be rewriting parts of my blurb for me?

I will make significant rewrite suggestions throughout the process, but it's important to understand that the 1:1 Blurb Audit is a chance for you to get your hands dirty and learn to finesse a professional blurb. Clients who get the most out of this service are the ones who offer their own ideas and phrases as we write!

What genres do you accept?

Literally everything — I've never met a blurb I couldn't help! If you're particularly worried about yours, DM me on Instagram or send me an email and let's chat!

I have multiple versions of the blurb — which one should I send you?

I'm happy to accept up to TWO versions of your blurb, so that we can amalgamate the best bits into one (please note we won't be rewriting both!). If you are sending more than one blurb version, please include them in the one Word doc. You can also send me multiple versions of the same paragraph/ending/hook — just ensure they're clearly labelled in the doc (the comments feature is good for this).
